We are happy to offer a free valuation service to anyone, whether they are potential vendors or just interested for its own sake.

The valuation of an instrument is nearly always based on who the maker of the instrument was. Much of the time we can provide an accurate suggestion of who the maker was or where the instrument was made and from this we can provide a fairly precise valuation.

In some instances the maker of an instrument is far from obvious and more time is needed. In situations such as this, we can either take photographs and work from them at a later date, or if the client is willing take the instrument back to London for research. Whilst we are prepared to bring the instruments to London at our own expense, clients are expected to pay for the return shipping if they wish the instrument returned.
