Brompton’s successfully sells around 1,000 instruments a year. We offer three methods of sale. Our auctions are favoured by the majority of our clients, but for those wishing their instrument to be sold out of the public eye we offer a private treaty service. Brompton’s will, if appropriate, purchase instruments. 1. Selling through our famous musical instrument auctionsThe most popular and traditional method of selling musical instrument, and one that has been successful for over 150 years. Brompton’s sales are held within the hallowed halls of The Royal Institution of Great Britain (founded in 1798) where our offices can also be found. The auction sale is universally favoured by lawyers dealing with estates, as the most transparent and best way of achieving an open market value.
2. Private Treaty SaleBrompton’s offer a private treaty sale for clients who wish their instruments to be sold out of the public eye. Brompton’s has a large international client base and has successfully found private buyers for some of the worlds finest instruments.
3. Selling Direct to Brompton’sIn some circumstances Brompton’s is prepared to buy an instrument outright.
