Buying Fine Musical Instruments at Auction

buying-intro.jpg Buying with Bromptons is simple and transparent. Whether the buyer wishes to attend the auction and bid in person, or leave a commission bid, the process is open and fair. There is nothing intimidating about the auctions themselves and indeed after a few minutes auctions appear to be the most natural way of doing business - certainly it is the clearest way of finding the correct and fair value for an instrument.

Bromptons commission charges are less than those at Sotheby’s or Christie’s and clients are afforded every opportunity to try the instruments in the weeks before the sale. We are aware that for many of our clients, the instrument they may end up with is going to be their companion for the next few decades and, ultimately, their pension. We do as much as we are physically able to help musicians through the choosing and buying process.
